Bhubaneswar, Sept. 10 -- Heavy rainfall has left Biripada Pradhan village in Krushnaprasad block of Odisha's Puri district waterlogged, with more than 50 families surrounded by water.

Rainwater has accumulated in the village as it has failed to drain out, causing problems for residents. Villagers are facing difficulties due to the prolonged waterlogging.

Chilika Lake is located close to the village, and its water level has been gradually rising due to the continuous rainfall. This has further increased concerns among the villagers.

Residents fear that if the accumulated rainwater is not drained out soon, water from Chilika could enter the village. The situation may worsen if the lake's water level continues to rise.
