Bhubaneswar, May 16 -- A major accident was averted narrowly after a Hyva truck lost control and crashed into a residential house in Choradhara village under K. Balang police station limits in Sundargarh district, Odisha officials said on Saturday.

According to reports, the vehicle belonged to a local man, Dilip Barik, who had purchased the new Hyva truck just three days ago. The truck was reportedly heading for mining-related transportation work when the driver lost control near the Katasahi Chhak area.

The vehicle then veered off the road and rammed directly into a mud house, causing around 70 percent damage to the structure. The impact of the crash severely damaged the house and raised panic in the locality.
