Bhubaneswar, June 29 -- Puri district administration on Sunday restored street lighting along the crucial road linking Bata Gaon to the Jagannath Ballav parking terminal via Shree Setu. The administrative intervention came less than 24 hours after a news report aired by OTV highlighted the safety hazards faced by commuters on the unlit stretch.

The road stretch extending from Mangalaghat to Shree Setu had remained completely dark for a prolonged period. This had reportedly caused major difficulties for motorists.

Four-wheelers and two-wheelers travelling from Bhubaneswar to Puri through the Shree Setu flyover to reach the designated parking zone at Jagannath Ballav were forced to navigate the dark corridor.
