Bhubaneswar, Oct. 16 -- A family had to wait for nearly five hours to take a deceased person's body home from Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital in Odisha as the Mahaprayan vehicle was unavailable on Thursday.

After waiting for hours, the family decided to hire a private vehicle to transport the body. However, they alleged that they were prevented from taking the body in the hired vehicle, leading to a brief commotion on the hospital premises.

The situation was resolved after the hospital authorities intervened. The body was eventually transported in an ambulance.
