Bhubaneswar, June 14 -- Four persons were arrested by the Tamando police in Bhubaneswar on Saturday for allegedly creating fake escort service pages using photographs of women sourced from social media platforms without their consent and cheating customers through online transactions.

The accused have been identified as Umakanta Dalei, Chitta Ranjan Mohanty, Tofan Pradhan, and Minji Bhoi. The arrests were made following a complaint regarding the alleged misuse of photographs and online fraud.

According to police, the accused allegedly used photographs of several young women and other women to create escort service pages and attract customers by claiming that the women were involved in sex work.
