Bhubaneswar, Aug. 13 -- Healthcare infrastructure in Odisha's Balasore district is set for a boost as Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has recommended development works worth Rs 3.10 crore under the MPLADS funds.

The recommended funds will be used for upgrades at two major government hospitals in the district. Of the total amount, Rs 1.40 crore has been recommended for the Sub-Divisional Hospital in Nilagiri, while Rs 1.70 crore has been proposed for the Balasore District Headquarters Hospital.

At the Nilagiri hospital, the proposed works include upgrades to the IPD, drug warehouse, patient rest room, casualty, refreshment hall, surgery ward and OT. The SDMO office and OPD block are also included in the proposal.
