Bhubaneswar, March 9 -- A 24-year-old youth was allegedly stabbed to death with a machete by a group of attackers in Odisha's Bhadrak district late on Sunday night. The incident occurred at Gunthunia Bazar under the jurisdiction of Bhadrak Town Police Station.

The deceased has been identified as Srikumar Swami. According to reports, the attack took place after the victim was called out of his house by a group of youths while he was watching cricket match at home.

Sources said Srikumar was watching the World Cup cricket match at his residence when he received a phone call from some youths asking him to come outside. After he stepped out of the house, the group allegedly launched a sudden assault on him.
