Bhubaneswar, Sept. 7 -- Heavy rain is set to return to Odisha as thunderstorms and lightning are expected over today and on Tuesday. As per the predictions of the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, very heavy rain is likely to begin from September 9. Northern and coastal Odisha regions are likely to be affected again.

The weather department has issued a yellow alert for 17 districts for rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning today. The warning covers several districts across northern, coastal and western Odisha.

A yellow warning has also been issued for 20 districts for tomorrow.
