Bhubaneswar, Sept. 10 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a warning for Odisha on Thursday, forecasting extremely heavy rainfall on Friday. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is also likely at places on Saturday.

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Bhubaneswar, heavy rainfall activity will continue across parts of the state from September 11-13. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are also likely during this period.

According to the forecast, Kandhamal and Kalahandi are likely to witness extremely heavy rainfall on Friday, along with heavy to very heavy rainfall in areas such as Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Ganjam.
