Bhubaneswar, Sept. 22 -- Rainfall is set to intensify across Odisha as a depression over the Bay of Bengal is likely to strengthen further and move towards the state coast. Southern and coastal Odisha are expected to receive the heaviest rainfall.

Heavy to very heavy rain has been forecasted on September 23 and 24.

The low-pressure area over the west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the system is likely to intensify further and become a deep depression by tonight.

The weather system is currently located 250 km east-southeast of Gopalpur, 270 km south of Puri, 330 km east-southeast of Kalingapatnam and 410 km east of Visakhapatnam. ...
