Odisha village faces drinking water crisis despite rains; over 30 families depend on pond
Bhubaneswar, Oct. 2 -- More than 30 families in Ambakhol Kateni Sabar Sahi under Kamakhyanagar block of Dhenkanal district in Odisha are facing a drinking water shortage despite the ongoing rainy season. With the village water supply project remaining defunct for over a year, residents have been forced to depend on pond water to meet their drinking water needs.
A water project was set up in the village to provide drinking water to the residents. However, the project has remained non-functional for more than a year and has not been repaired. As a result, it is of no use to the villagers.
The drinking water problem has worsened after the only tube well in the village stopped functioning. With no reliable source of drinking water available...
