Bhubaneswar, Sept. 3 -- OdishaVigilance team caught Sanjay Kumar Hansdah, Assistant Drugs Controller/Drug Inspector of Jajpur while allegedly accepting a Rs 6,000 bribe on Thursday. He was also reportedly holding additional charge of Jagatsinghpur district.

Hansdah was caught near Jaipur Chhak on the Paradip-Cuttack NH-53 road while allegedly accepting the money from an applicant. The bribe was sought for recommending and forwarding an applicant's request to the Drug Controller's headquarters in Bhubaneswar and recommending the issuance of a wholesale drug licence.

The complainant had applied for a drug licence for his wholesale medicine shop on May 11, 2025. He subsequently met Hansdah several times regarding the application.
