Bhubaneswar, Oct. 14 -- Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested Alan Behera, a Revenue Inspector (RI) of Saintala Revenue Circle in Bolangir district. The arrest was made after Alan was allegedly caught while accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 to process an application for conversion of agricultural land into homestead land.

The Vigilance team apprehended Behera in his office during a trap operation launched on October 13. The bribe money was recovered from his possession in the presence of witnesses. His right-hand wash also reportedly tested positive for a chemical reaction, indicating contact with the tainted money.
