Bhubaneswar, June 3 -- Odisha has emerged as a frontrunner in renewable energy adoption, securing the prestigious PM Surya Ghar Excellence Award for its outstanding performance during the nationwide 'Month of Solar' campaign held last month.

The state secured the top position among medium-consumer category states in three key parameters - highest number of consumer applications, highest number of rooftop solar installations, and the highest number of DISCOM inspections and verifications. Odisha also ranked third in the country for vendor registrations, highlighting the rapid expansion of its solar energy ecosystem.
