Bhubaneswar, April 5 -- The Odishagovernment approved the implementation of the Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana on Saturday. Under this scheme, beneficiaries will receive an additional 5 kg of rice per person, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi said.
The proposal was cleared at the state Cabinet meeting. The scheme will be implemented during the 2026-27 financial year, to strengthen food security in the state.
Under the initiative, beneficiaries covered under the National Food Security Act and the State Food Security Scheme will be provided with additional rice over and above their existing monthly entitlement.
