Bhubaneswar, July 8 -- Land transactions in Odisha will soon become completely cashless, with no cash payments allowed during the registration process, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari announced on Tuesday.

According to the announcement, the minister said that the initiative was taken to make registration offices free from middlemen and improve transparency in land registration.

The Revenue Department is set to issue a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) soon to implement the new system. Revenue officials will also undergo specialised training to ensure the smooth rollout of the revised registration process.

According to the new arrangement, landowners will be required to visit the registration office only once for identity verification. ...
