Bhubaneswar, July 3 -- Odisha is set to further strengthen its disaster management infrastructure with the installation of advanced doppler radars in four key cities to improve the assessment and forecasting of natural disasters.

The decision came after a high-level review meeting held at Lok Seva Bhavan under the chairmanship of Revenue and Disaster Management minister Suresh Pujari on Thursday.

The proposed doppler radars are set to be installed in Sambalpur, Balasore, Bhubaneswar and Puri. The initiative aims to enhance the state's preparedness by enabling more accurate weather monitoring and early prediction of natural calamities.
