Bhubaneswar, Oct. 1 -- The Odisha government is stepping up efforts to eliminate child labour from rural areas and ensure that children who are out of school return to education.

The state has set a target to make every gram panchayat child labour-free by 2029. A roadmap has been prepared, with a statewide campaign scheduled to begin on Gandhi Jayanti, October 2.

The first phase of the campaign will run from October 2 to November 14, Children's Day.
