Odisha received 25 per cent more rainfall this monsoon, more rain in September: IMD DG
Bhubaneswar, Sept. 1 -- Odisha has recorded 1,154.3 mm of rain this monsoon as of August 31, completing its normal seasonal rainfall quota nearly a month ahead of schedule.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued rainfall activity across the state in September. IMD Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra said northern Odisha is likely to receive normal or above-normal rainfall during the month.
He also said the impact of low-pressure systems is likely to continue over Odisha in September, bringing further spells of rainfall to different parts of the state.
