Bhubaneswar, Sept. 25 -- Schools will remain closed in six districts of Odisha on Friday amid incessant rainfall and disruption in several areas. The decision has been taken in view of increasing waterlogging, poor road conditions and the possibility of landslides in hilly areas.

All schools in Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Gajapati will remain closed today. The holiday has also been extended by one day in Ganjam, Koraput and Rayagada districts.

Several areas have reported waterlogging on roads due to the rainfall. Fallen trees have also disrupted communication at some locations. In hilly areas, there are concerns over possible landslides and road blockages.
