Odisha Police launch co-ordinated overnight raids on cattle smuggling networks
Bhubaneswar, June 13 -- Odisha Police launched extensive, co-ordinated raids across Balasore, Bhadrak, and Mayurbhanj districts targeting alleged cattle smuggling rings on Saturday.
Initiated in the middle of the night to prevent suspects from fleeing or destroying evidence, the operations led to multiple arrests and the seizure of various assets. While regional cattle mafia operations reportedly decreased significantly following the election of the BJP in West Bengal and a subsequent drop in cross-border demand, local law enforcement intensified its vigilance.
In Bhadrak district, police teams executed targeted raids at six distinct locations falling under the jurisdictions of the Puruna Bazar and Town police stations.
