Bhubaneswar, Sept. 12 -- Odisha Vigilance apprehended an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Khalikote Police Station in Odisha's Ganjam on Friday while allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000.

The accused has been identified as Sujeet Panigrahi, ASI of Khalikote Police Station. He allegedly sought money from a person to help him in a case registered against him at the same police station. Panigrahi was the Investigating Officer in the case.

According to reports, the complainant was unable to meet the alleged demand and subsequently reported the matter to the Vigilance authorities. Following this, Berhampur Vigilance team laid a trap on Friday and apprehended Panigrahi while he was allegedly taking Rs 15,000 from the complai...
