Odisha plans to transform Chilika into world-class tourism destination; master plan soon
Bhubaneswar, Aug. 5 -- The Odisha government is planning to prepare a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Chilika Lake, Maa Kalijai Temple and the Satapada region. This comes with the aim to develop the area into a world-class tourism destination while safeguarding its ecological significance.
According to a report by The Times Of India, the proposal was reviewed at a high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and Law, Works and Excise Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Tuesday. The meeting focused on strengthening tourism infrastructure, improving visitor amenities and promoting sustainable tourism at Chilika, which is Asia's largest brackish water lagoon and a Ramsar site.
