Bhubaneswar, Sept. 24 -- Several parts of Odisha have recorded heavy rainfall as a deep depression continues its slow movement towards the state. This has raised concerns over possible flooding in many areas. The system has moved at a speed of around 3 kmph during the last six hours after crossing the coast.

The deep depression crossed the coast late on Wednesday night near the southwest of Kalingapatnam, between north Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha. It is expected to enter through Koraput by Thursday evening.

Similiguda in Koraput recorded the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours at 193.3 mm. Chitrakonda received 168.8 mm, followed by Tangi with 142 mm.
