Bhubaneswar, June 13 -- Preliminary investigation into the death of MBBS student Chandrika Hembram revealed on Saturday that her death occurred because of her boyfriend and OAS officer Bhimsen Tudu, according to DCP Rishikesh Khilari.

The DCP stated that Bhimsen could be brought on remand for further questioning if required. Meanwhile, police have arrested Chandrika's boyfriend, Bhimsen Tudu, and have kept him at Baranga Police Station.

As part of the investigation, police seized Bhimsen's laptop and tablet. The DCP said that investigators have also obtained information from WhatsApp, which is being examined as part of the case.
