Bhubaneswar, July 2 -- The Special Vigilance Court in Cuttack rejected the bail application of Bhimsen Tudu on Thursday, the prime accused in the death case of medical student Chandrika Hembram.

The court declined to grant him bail after taking into account the social impact of the case and the allegations levelled against him.

While rejecting the bail plea, the Special Vigilance Court observed the seriousness of the allegations against the accused and considered the wider social impact of the incident. Based on these factors, the court refused to grant him bail.
