Bhubaneswar, June 9 -- The Odisha Government has placed three engineers of the Water Resources Department under suspension with immediate effect in connection with alleged gross misconduct and dereliction of duty in the execution of a canal development project in Bargarh district.

According to an order issued by the Department of Water Resources on June 8, disciplinary proceedings have been contemplated against Madan Mohan Sethy, Superintending Engineer, Bargarh Irrigation Division; Raj Kumar Mishra, Assistant Executive Engineer, Bheden Irrigation Sub-Division; and Ranjan Patel, Assistant Engineer, Bargarh Canal Section.
