Bhubaneswar, Aug. 13 -- The Odisha government has decided to promote the overall development and protection of Puri's Govardhan Peeth, established by Adi Shankaracharya, while taking steps to further spread the culture of Lord Jagannath.

The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday. The meeting focused on protecting the properties of Govardhan Peeth and enhancing Puri's spiritual significance.
