India, Oct. 9 -- The Odisha government has increased the minimum daily wages for workers across four categories by Rs 6, with the revised rates coming into effect from October 1, 2026. The increase applies to unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled and highly skilled workers across the state.

Following the revision, unskilled workers will receive Rs 478 per day, up from Rs 472. The daily wage for semi-skilled workers has risen to Rs 528 from Rs 522, while skilled workers will now get Rs 578 and highly skilled workers Rs 628.

The Labour Commissioner's office issued a notification on October 8, confirming the revision through an additional Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA).
