Bhubaneswar, June 1 -- Odisha is set to embark on a major tourism transformation with the introduction of environment-friendly electric boats at some of its most popular tourist destinations and plans to launch cruise tourism in Koraput. The initiative is aimed at promoting sustainable tourism, reducing dependence on fuels and minimising environmental pollution while enhancing visitor experience across the state.

The Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) has initiated the process of replacing conventional diesel-powered boats with electric boats at select tourist locations. The move is being viewed as a significant step towards developing greener and cleaner tourism infrastructure in Odisha.
