Bhubaneswar, Sept. 26 -- Two tribal women went missing on Friday after being swept away by floodwaters in the Durgadevi area along the Mayurbhanj border in Balasore district of Odisha.

The incident took place near the Samantahati Bridge under Remuna police limits when the two women were returning home from a local market in the evening. The women were crossing the river when they were caught in the strong flow of floodwaters and were swept away.

One of the missing women has been identified as Dholi Singh. The identity of the other woman has not been clearly established, while locals identified her as the wife of a local named Boita Singh.
