Odisha floods: Stay alert for Salandi, Jalaka, Baitarani rivers amid heavy rain, says EIC
Bhubaneswar, Aug. 13 -- Water Resources Department advised heightened vigilance on Thursday over the Salandi, Jalaka and Baitarani rivers amid heavy rainfall triggered by the prevailing Low Pressure system. The department said several areas in north Odisha may continue to face waterlogging despite no major flood threat in most rivers.
The Engineer-in-Chief (EIC) of the Water Resources Department said particular attention is required for the Salandi as heavy rainfall has been recorded in its upper catchment areas. Poor drainage has also contributed to waterlogging in several locations.
