India, Aug. 1 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday announced that the state government will complete a comprehensive assessment of flood-related damage within three days after the floodwaters recede, following which immediate relief packages will be provided to affected families, particularly for crop losses and damaged houses.

The announcement came after the Chief Minister conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected regions across the state. Accompanied by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari and Special Relief Commissioner Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, Majhi reviewed the flood situation in more than 12 blocks spread across five districts-Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar.
