Bhubaneswar, Aug. 14 -- The flood situation in four districts of Odisha has affected nearly 45 panchayats, said Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Rajesh Prabhakar Patil on Friday.

According to the Odisha SRC, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore and Mayurbhanj are among the affected districts.

Rising floodwaters in the Baitarani and Budhabalanga rivers have further worsened the situation in parts of northern Odisha, he said.

According to the SRC, flooding in the Baitarani has affected Bhadrak and Jajpur districts. Floodwater had entered through breaches that had occurred earlier. Meanwhile, floodwater from the Budhabalanga entered Baripada town.
