Bhubaneswar, Aug. 9 -- The flood situation in parts of Odisha continues to remain a concern, even as water levels in the Baitarani and Salandi rivers have shown signs of decline. The rivers had been inching towards danger levels amid persistent rainfall in their upper catchment areas.

As per reports, at Akhuapada, the Baitarani had crossed the warning level and was moving towards the danger mark. The danger level there is 18.33 metres, while the river was flowing at around 18 metres as of 9 AM, indicating some relief. The Salandi has also recorded a fall in its water level. At Rajghat, against a danger mark of 17 feet, the river was flowing at 16.10 feet.
