Bhubaneswar, April 12 -- A postgraduate student was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district on Sunday. 

Police suspected that she may have died by suicide due to mental stress. The partially burnt body of the 24-year-old was recovered from the upper floor of her residence.

The incident reportedly occurred just two days before her examination results were scheduled to be declared.

According to reports, locals noticed smoke emanating from the upper floor of the house and alerted the family. At the time of the incident, the student's parents were away for work. A tenant residing on the middle floor informed her father immediately.
