Bhubaneswar, Oct. 29 -- The State Excise Department raided a bar in Karanjia market in Mayurbhanj district on suspicion of adulterated liquor sales on Wednesday. Officials seized several bottles of liquor belonging to reputed brands during the raid.

The seizure led to an argument between the bar owner's son and excise officials.The bar owner alleged that the raid was carried out of resentment because he had refused to pay monthly extortion money.

The raid was conducted after officials suspected that adulterated liquor was being sold at the bar. Some bottles of liquor from well-known brands were seized for examination.

The seizure led to a heated exchange between the officials and the bar owner's son, Sanjay Kumar Parida.
