India, Oct. 8 -- The waters off Odisha's Paradip coast on Thursday turned into a major maritime rescue zone as Indian Coast Guard, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force and several other agencies conducted the SAREX-2026, the 12th National Maritime Search and Rescue Exercise.

This is the first time for such a large-scale exercise off the coast of Odisha bringing together several defence, rescue and civil agencies for a simulated emergency at the sea.

A Full-Scale Rescue Scenario at Sea The exercise is designed to recreate the kind of crisis which can happen far from shore, where every minute counts.
