Bhubaneswar, June 25 -- The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) criticised the Odisha government over alleged delays in pension distribution and raised concerns about 'hardships faced by beneficiaries' in Odisha's Nabarangpur district.

Addressing a press conference in Nabarangpur, BJD leader Pradeep Majhi alleged that irregularities surfaced in the disbursement of old-age, widow and disability pensions. He claimed that thousands of eligible beneficiaries are yet to receive financial assistance, causing inconvenience to vulnerable sections of society.

Majhi alleged that the delay affected a large number of elderly persons, widows and persons with disabilities who depend on the assistance for their daily needs.
