Odisha busts Maoist dump with firearms, bombs, IEDs; finance, arms network under scanner
Bhubaneswar, July 3 -- Security forces have recovered another Maoist dump on Friday from the Tentuligumma forest under Boipariguda police limits in Odisha's Koraput district, seizing a cache of firearms, explosives and ammunition during a search operation.
Acting on intelligence gathered from surrendered Maoists, personnel of the District Voluntary Force (DVF) conducted a search in the forest and recovered six country-made firearms, eight tiffin bombs, four Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), detonators, live ammunition and a large quantity of explosive materials.
Koraput SP Rohit Verma said the operation was launched after valuable leads emerged during the interrogation of Maoists who had recently surrendered or were arrested.
