Odisha braces for heavy rain till August 13, orange alert issued for 4 districts
Bhubaneswar, Aug. 9 -- Odisha is likely to receive heavy rainfall for the next four days after a low-pressure area formed under the influence of an upper-air cyclonic circulation over south Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining north Odisha on Saturday.
The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has predicted thunderstorms and gusty winds. The cyclonic circulation reportedly extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level.
An orange warning has been issued for Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Sambalpur for very heavy rainfall.
Similarly, a yellow alert has been issued for the remaining districts for heavy rainfall.
