Odisha battles extreme heat as Jharsuguda and Sambalpur touch 45degC
Bhubaneswar, May 20 -- Severe heatwave tightened its grip over several parts of Odisha, with Jharsuguda and Sambalpur recording temperatures around the 45-degree mark, causing immense discomfort to residents on Wednesday. The scorching weather, coupled with high humidity levels, has severely affected normal life across western Odisha.
According to weather reports, Jharsuguda recorded a temperature of 45.2 degrees Celsius by 2.30 PM, making it the hottest town in the State once again. The town has consistently remained among the hottest places in Odisha over the past several days as intense sunlight and dry winds continue to push temperatures upward.
