Odisha Bandh brings mining operations to halt in Sundargarh; shops and markets shut
India, Oct. 8 -- Odisha Bandh called by the INDI Alliance had an impact in Koida of Sundargarh district, particularly across the mining belt. Agitating workers blocked the Koida block intersection, bringing mineral transportation from several mines to a halt on Thursday.
Mining Transport, Rail Sidings, And Bus Services Disrupted
More than 100 protesters gathered at the intersection, raising slogans and demonstrating in support of the Congress-led shutdown. Mining operations and picketing were reported at several locations, while railway sidings remained closed. Goods trains were also seen halted on tracks.
