Bhubaneswar, Sept. 13 -- Odisha Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain said on Sunday that the investment proposals secured during Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi's UAE visit would give fresh momentum to the state's industrial and employment sectors.

Swain said that MoUs were signed for around 24 projects during the three-day visit with an investment of around Rs 2,43,062 crore expected to come to Odisha. The proposed investments cover several sectors, including IT and healthcare, and are expected to create over 8 lakh direct and indirect job opportunities.

The minister said that the foreign visit would help take Odisha's development further and strengthen the state's prospects for attracting foreign investment.
