No electricity for weeks: Anger mounts as TPWODL office gheraoed in Sundargarh
Bhubaneswar, June 30 -- A prolonged power outage for more than 20 days left the residents of Dalki and Bhadarpur villages under Kuarmunda block in Odisha's Sundargarh district without electricity.
Following this, the villagers staged a gherao at the Biramitrapur Electricity Department office, demanding the immediate installation of a new transformer.
According to the villagers, the transformer serving the two villages burnt after being struck by lightning a few days ago, resulting in a complete disruption of electricity supply. Since then, both Dalki and Bhadarpur villages remained without power.
