NHAI's green push in Odisha: Over 1 lakh saplings planted along national highways
Bhubaneswar, July 17 -- National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Regional Office Odisha, planted 1,14,557 saplings along various National Highway corridors across the state under its Mega Plantation Drive 2026. This achievement reportedly marked a significant step towards the authority's annual target of planting 2.6 lakh saplings in Odisha during the 2026-27 financial year.
Conducted under the Green Highways Initiative, the campaign aims to expand roadside green cover. It also focuses on how to improve local air quality, enhance biodiversity, and strengthen climate resilience along several key transport routes.
