Bhubaneswar, Oct. 16 -- Maa Sarala is being worshipped as Maa Katyayani on the sixth day of Navratri at the Sarala shrine in Jagatsinghpur district. Devotees gathered on Friday morning to witness the Mangala Alati of the Goddess.

The temple doors opened at 4 am, followed by Mangala Alati at 5 am. The shrine is observing its traditional 16-day festive worship from Mulashtami to Mahashtami, as it does every year.

During the festive period, the Goddess is adorned in different forms every day. The rituals include Shodasha Upachara Puja and Chandi Path. Maa Sarala is also adorned in Suna Besha every evening and taken around the temple premises in a decorated palanquin.
