Bhubaneswar, April 14 -- Maharashtra Legislative Council Deputy Chairperson Neelam Gorhe has called for strict action against employees of a leading IT firm following serious allegations of sexual harassment and coercion linked to religious conversion at its Nashik facility.

In an official statement issued on Monday, Gorhe said she has directed the Nashik Police Commissioner to ensure stringent action in the matter.

The case came to light after eight women employees of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) accused senior Muslim colleagues at the company's Nashik campus of harassment and coercive practices. Based on these complaints, police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a detailed probe.
