Bhubaneswar, May 10 -- As people across the country are celebrating Mother's Day with social media posts, cakes, and greetings on Sunday, several elderly women at an old age home in Odisha's Balasore continue to live in isolation, carrying memories of families they once nurtured but are now separated from.

Behind the celebrations and online tributes, many elderly mothers at the old age home were seen longing for affection and emotional support from their children. For several of them, the shelter has become their final refuge after years of alleged neglect and mistreatment at home.
