Most-wanted Jharkhand thief injured in police encounter in Odisha's Keonjhar
Bhubaneswar, July 6 -- A most-wanted thief was injured in a police encounter in Champua of Odisha's Keonjhar district on Sunday after he allegedly opened fire at a police team. Later, he led the officers to a spot where stolen property were hidden.
The accused, identified as Mohammad Nafis, sustained a bullet injury to his right leg. He was first admitted to Champua Hospital before being shifted to Keonjhar Government Medical College and Hospital, where doctors said his condition is now stable.
Nafis, a resident of Jharkhand, was arrested on Sunday from Majhigaon in Jharkhand. Police said he was wanted in connection with several theft cases and was on the most-wanted list of Keonjhar Police.
